I had another run-in with the probably good people at Lego today. I opened my complimentary Beach Buggy set and dumped it out on my floor. No one else was around and the pieces didn’t go far. About half way through, I realized I was missing a piece. With no kids or Quan to blame, I stood up and slowly shook out my clothes. I gingerly stroked the carpet in search of a case of camouflage. I willed thoughts of Lego’s misdeeds to the back of my head until the completion of my project. Lo and behold, I found the missing piece here:

I was productive today. I booked my move from Richmond to Richmond as well as the transportation of some of our stuff to California. I also replaced more knobs, some of which involved a screwdriver, needle nosed pliers, tweezers, scissors, and sweat. Amir calls this my knob project. I call it my Home Beatification and the Expansion of the Positive Energy that Cradles our Family Project.

I spent half an hour on the phone with the Richmond Department of Public Utilites in my quest to connect new service. The representative touched base every 30 seconds or so to let me know that she was still there, in the silence. I felt encouraged, again, to be more kind. Later, I chatted with a PODS employee about Las Vegas and the temperament of small dogs. She said she could have sworn from my laugh I was 24 years old.
